# Point of Sale extensions

Issue, top up, extend or resend gift cards from the Shopify POS app.

Both extensions appear inside the **Shopify POS** app on your devices once Gift Card Factory is installed.

## Issue gift card from this sale

A **smart grid tile** for staff. Tapping it opens a form that issues a gift card to the customer attached to the current cart, for an amount you type or the cart total, emails it to them and shows the code so it can be read out or printed. If no customer is attached, the card is created without a recipient and the code is shown to write down.

To add the tile:

1. Open Shopify POS on your device.
2. Tap **Add tile** on the smart grid.
3. Choose **Apps → Gift Card Factory**.
4. Pick **Issue gift card from this sale** and tap **Add**.

## Update customer's gift card

An action in the POS **customer details** menu. Staff pick one of the customer's gift cards and **Top up** the balance, **Extend expiry** by a number of days or **Resend by email** to the customer or the recipient. Nothing needs to be added; it appears under **More actions** on a customer.
