# Gift Card Postman block

The product-page block that powers sending gift cards to friends.

The Gift Card Postman block is a **theme app block** for your gift card product page. It adds the fields a Gift Card Postman campaign needs: **Is this a gift?**, sender's name, recipient's name and email, a send date and a personal message. After the order is paid, the campaign creates the gift card and delivers it on the chosen date.

The block is **required while a Gift Card Postman campaign is active**. The Extensions page and the dashboard mark it *Required · Not installed* if it is missing from your live theme.

## Adding the block

1. Open **Extensions** in the app and click **Add to theme** on Gift Card Postman, or use the **Add** button in step 1 of the Postman campaign form.
2. The theme editor opens on your product template with the block already added. Move it above the **Buy buttons** and click **Save**.
3. Back in the app, click **Verify** to confirm.

The block only renders on the app gift card product created by the campaign, so it is safe to leave on the product template.

## Settings

Each field can be shown or hidden and its label, placeholder and the property title shown at checkout can be changed in the theme editor. See the full setup guide under [Gift Card Postman → Setup](/campaigns/gift-card-postman/setup.md).

## Custom amounts

With **Enable custom gift card value** turned on in the campaign, the block also shows a **Custom** denomination where shoppers enter their own amount. This needs the [Gift Card Custom Amount](/extensions/gift-card-custom-amount.md) function, available on Shopify Plus and development stores.
