Extensions overview

🧩 App extensions that bring Gift Card Factory into your storefront, checkout, customer accounts, Shopify admin and POS.

Beyond the app dashboard, Gift Card Factory ships a set of extensions — building blocks that surface gift card functionality directly where your customers and staff already are: the storefront, the checkout, the new customer accounts, the Shopify admin and the Shopify POS app.

All extensions are installed together with the app. You enable and place each one where it fits your store — no code required. The Extensions page in the app lists every one of them with its install status, a short demo video and a one-click or step-by-step install. See The Extensions page.

Online Store (theme blocks)

• Gift Card Postman — the product-page block that adds "Is this a gift?", recipient, send date and message fields. Required while a Gift Card Postman campaign is active.

• Gift Card Balance Lookup — a storefront form where customers check a gift card's remaining balance using the last 4 characters of the code.

• Gift Card Reward Banner and Store Credit Banner — cart banners that show shoppers the reward they'll earn from your active rewards campaign.

Checkout

Checkout blocks render on the information, shipping and payment steps, which Shopify makes available to Shopify Plus stores only. On other plans they are hidden from the Extensions page.

• Checkout Gift Cards — reminds logged-in customers of their gift cards at checkout: last 4 characters, expiry date and remaining balance, an Applied badge for cards already redeemed in the order, and an optional resend button.

• Gift Card Reward and Store Credit Reward — checkout banners telling the buyer what they'll earn by completing the order.

Customer accounts

• Customer Account Gift Cards — a "Gift Cards" page and a Profile widget inside the new customer accounts, where logged-in customers see their gift cards, resend them by email, view transaction history and convert a card's balance into store credit.

Shopify Admin

• Adjust balance — add to, deduct from or set a gift card's balance from the gift card page.

• Customer's gift cards — a block on the customer page listing that customer's gift cards.

• Refund on gift card — refund any order as a gift card from the order's More actions menu.

Point of Sale

• Issue gift card from this sale and Update customer's gift card — issue, top up, extend or resend gift cards from the Shopify POS app.

Runs automatically

• Gift Card Custom Amount — a cart transform function that prices the Postman gift card at the amount the shopper typed. Shopify Plus only; switched on from the Postman campaign.
